2009 annual report:
Dedicated to B.C. - Energy. Economy. Environment.
Letter from R.L. (Randy) Jespersen, President & CEO

For Terasen, 2009 was a pivotal year.
We completed the new pipeline from Squamish to Whistler and converted the Resort Municipality of Whistler to natural gas. New products and services were introduced, energy efficiency and conservation offers were expanded, and we undertook about $250 million of capital investment here in B.C.
We made exciting progress in the development of alternative energy solutions and advanced our relationships with communities, government, industry and First Nations while continuing to show improvement in customer satisfaction ratings. Our employees continued to provide selfless contributions in many creative ways to the communities where we all live and work.
We worked through a very challenging regulatory agenda leading to two-year negotiated settlements for our major utilities and achieved a decision from our regulator, which recognized the importance of a strong balance sheet and improved returns on current and future invested capital, required to meet the needs of our customers.
Terasen serves approximately 939,000 customers in more than 125 B.C. communities and plays an important role in helping our province meet its climate action targets.
As a leading energy solutions provider, Terasen is meeting today's energy needs and anticipating tomorrow's. This is our dedication to British Columbia.
