Terasen Inc. is a Canadian corporation headquartered in British Columbia. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Inc., an investor-owned utility corporation, and the parent company of Terasen Gas, the principal natural gas distributor and integrated energy provider in BC.
You may be surprised by what's in our pipeline. While most people still think of Terasen as a natural gas utility, we are becoming a leading integrated energy solutions provider. We
are a company as comfortable with geothermal and solar
energy, or waste heat and biogas recovery, as we are with
natural gas delivery. We already deliver more than 20 per cent
of the province’s energy needs, and we’re working to help
ensure that BC’s energy future is safe, affordable, sustainable
and environmentally friendly.

The Terasen group of companies
- Terasen Gas delivers energy to 96 per cent of the province's natural gas customers, approximately 940,000 customers, in more than 125 communities. In addition to natural gas, Terasen Gas develops and delivers alternative energy solutions, including district energy and geoexchange, for today and tomorrow.
- Terasen Measurement assists gas and electric utilities across North America in maintaining the integrity of their measurement systems. The metrology services include: electric & gas measurement, flow meter testing, meter fleet management and automated meter reading.
